LACES, a magnet school, is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. This course is part of our computer electives curriculum and is offered to students in grades 9-12.
This is an introductory course in Web Development and Design. Students are taught to construct websites in raw HTML using a simple text editor. Students will be introduced to web page design and development through a series of online tutorials. These will include introductory courses in HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript as well as an overview of currently accepted Web Standards as outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium. Students will build a variety of personal websites demonstrating the skills acquired from these tutorials. Students will be expected to complete a final Web project incorporating and demonstrating the skills acquired through these tutorials.
