The Green Team is a committee of parents, partnering with L.A.C.E.S. Student Leadership, student clubs, and teachers to increase environmental awareness among the students and the community, and to encourage everyone to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Green for Green Program - raising money for L.A.C.E.S. by collecting and redeeming recyclable materials generated by our school and the community. Download the pdf flyers at the bottom of this page to keep it as a reminder or help spread the word.
Since the Green Team inception in fall 2011, 82,000 pounds of discards has been recycled through this program, and more than $19,500 has been raised or LACES from bottles, cans and electronic waste.

We collect the following types of recyclable materials:
- CRV Glass bottles
- CRV Aluminum cans
- CRV Plastic bottles
- We DO NOT accept non-CRV items
Please bringing your items ALREADY SORTED
and EMPTIED ,
this will save a lot of work for the volunteers. Also FLATTEN
your plastic and aluminum cans if possible.

E-Waste Drive - raising money for L.A.C.E.S. by collecting and redeeming electronic waste generated by our school and the community.
Since the 2011- 2012 school year, LACES Green Team hosted two E-Waste Fundraiser Drives. We collected 46,000 pounds of e-waste, and raised $3200.
Zero Waste Event - reducing waste to near zero at school events by purchasing food in bulk instead of in individually wrapped packets, using the least amount of disposable utensils and plates possible, encouraging attendees to bring a reusable cup and plate, maximizing recycling, preventing food waste, and composting uneaten discarded food waste. Our 3rd zero waste event will; be the 8th grade culmination in June, 2014.
