PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE ONLY AMIMALS, AND YOU CAN ONLY USE AN ORGANISM NO MORE THAN ONCE IN YOUR PRESENTATION (I.E. I CAN USE TWO ADAPTATIONS OF A PARTICULAR ANIMAL MAX)
You and your team will pick one of the ecosystems on our planet. You will provide background info on the ecosystem, including biotic and abiotic info
You will also be asked to provide (4) examples of each of the three kinds of adaptations covered in class. You have to have a minimum of (2) animals per adaptation covered.
Team scoring:
Abiotic/Biotic ecosys info (10 pts)
Craftsmanship ( Graded on a 10 pt scale) of your presentation
Individual Scoring:
Correct Example of adaptation with explanation (15 each)
Presentation of info (5 pts each for clarity, accuracy, and edutainment value)

DNA PROJECT!
You (and a partner) will be responsible for making a model of DNA. Your model must consist of the three parts of DNA (Phosphate/Sugar/Nitrogen base) You strand of DNA must be AT LEAST 8 Nucleotide pairs long and DOUBLE STRANDED.
You will also include a DNA Polymerase molecule and demonstrate using a model how DNA Replication is semiconservative. With your model you need to show how the new strand of DNA is constructed.
You will be graded on your ability to do correctly demonstrate and/or articulate the following in your presentation:
DNA PROJECT SCORING GUIDELINES
Correct DNA Molecular Structure 30 pts
Correct Base Pairing 10 pts
Semiconservative Replication (Including new strand) 25
DNA Polymerase 10 pts
Creativity 15 pts
Craftsmanship 10 pts
Please make sure that you IDENTIFY who was responsible for which components so that your individual effort is reflected in each of your grades.

Cell Organelle Project Outline
Solo Project: Analogy of a Cell-You will be responsible for coming up with an analogy for a cell. You may not use a school as your analogy
- EXAMPLE:
A war is like a sporting event.
The Generals are the Coaches. They determine where the team will go and what it does.
The Battlefield is the Stadium. It’s where the teams play.
The spectators are the civilians. They wait to see who wins
Solo Project: Analogy of a Cell
You will write this up and present to the class at least 8 organelles
You must include an explanation for each of the organelles you pick.
A CELL IS LIKE A SPORTING EVENT
EX: A cheerleader is like a centriole because just as a centriole helps the cell move, the cheerleader moves the crowd in a football game.
Solo or Partner Project: Analogy of a Cell (Model)-You will be responsible for coming up with an analogy for a cell. You will present a model of your cell in 3D. If you decide to work with a partner, each of you will be responsible for 5 cellular organelles or components each (cell membrane). If you do it by yourself, you have to do six organelles.
You bring in your model and present to the class. You will explain how each component of your model is related.
EXAMPLE: This is the model of an insect. An insect is like a cell. The legs of the insect are like the vesicles because they. .. . .. .
SCORING GUIDE
Solo project w/o Model: 12.5 pts for each correct analogy.
Model project: 16 pts for each analogy presented correctly (5 analogies per partner). If Solo project, 13.5 pts per analogy. 20 pts for overall presentation.
