The goal of Honors English 10 is to ensure that students acquire the ability to read closely, understand the conventions of literary discourse, engage with the discourse through writing accurately and insightfully, and are prepared for AP Language and Composition. The core texts will comprise a survey of canonical literature.
Objectives:- Students will write essays in a variety of genres that meet CA Language Arts Standards for 9/10th grade and prepare them for the CA High School Exit Exam, LAUSD SPA assessments and AP Language.
- Students will read and analyze texts that represent a survey of canonical literature.
- Students will present oral thesis and listen constructively to oral arguments.
