Bike Train
*** SEEKING STUDENT & PARENT BIKERS FOR LACES BIKE TRAIN PILOT
PROJECT ***
Would you like BIKING to and from LACES to be a reality for your
LACES student? The LACES Bike Train Team wants YOU -- student bikers
and parent biker chaperones -- to join the Bike Train Pilot Program.
Set to launch in September, the Bike Train will initially “run” one
(1) day a week and start with one route. With the success of one
route, the Bike Train Team will expand route options.
WHAT IS A BIKE TRAIN?
A group of people that bike together on a pre-planned route. There are
meet-up points along the route where riders join the train. Bike
Trains enhance the fun, comfort and safety of riding, and help create
a community of riders. The benefit and fun is that students arrive to
school more attentive and ready to learn. And parent chaperones meet
great folks and have some fun, easy bike time.
Bike Trains are comprised of approx. one biker chaperone for every 3
to 6 student bikers. In advance of the first Bike Train ride, there
will be an Orientation to cover bicycle handling, safety and Rules-of-
the-Road.
